Tobias Lehmkuhl (born 1976) studied in Bonn, Barcelona and Berlin. From 2002 onward, he worked as a freelance journalist, critic and author for publications including Die Zeit, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Deutschlandfunk. He wrote reviews, essays and radio features. His books include Nico. Biographie eines Rätsels (2018), Der doppelte Erich. Kästner im Dritten Reich and Coolness. Über Miles Davis. In 2017, he received the Berlin Prize for Literary Criticism. He also co-edited the anthology Mouth to Mouth. Contemporary German Poetry in Translation (2004).
