Laetitia Lenel studied history and philosophy in Freiburg, Berlin, and Prague, and subsequently earned a doctorate in Berlin. She received the WerkstattGeschichte Essay Prize for an essay about letters written by her great-grandfather to her great-grandmother. An excerpt from her novel earned her a scholarship from the Jürgen Ponto Foundation’s writing workshop.
