Natascha Wodin

Natascha Wodin, born in Fürth in 1945 to Soviet forced laborers, is a German author and translator from Russian. She worked as a telephone operator and stenographer before becoming an interpreter and turning to literature. Her debut novel, Die gläserne Stadt, was published in 1983; her later works include Nachtgeschwister, Irgendwo in diesem Dunkel, and Sie kam aus Mariupol. Her writing has received, among other honors, the Hermann Hesse Prize, the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize, the Alfred Döblin Prize, the Leipzig Book Fair Prize, and the Joseph Breitbach Prize in 2022.
