Dana Ranga

Dana Ranga was born in Bucharest in 1964 and moved to Germany in 1987. At Freie Universität Berlin, she studied art history as well as film studies and other media- and culture-related subjects. As a filmmaker, she made East Side Story (1997), Story (2003), and Cosmonaut Polyakov (2007), among other works. Her documentaries about space exploration were screened at festivals and in cinemas internationally and received numerous awards. She published the poetry collection Wasserbuch in 2011, followed by the short-story collection Hauthaus in 2016. Her writing has also appeared in journals including Sinn und Form, manuskripte, and die horen.
