Sabrina Janesch (born 1985) is an author. She studied, among other subjects, Polish studies in Kraków as well as creative writing and cultural journalism in Hildesheim. Her debut novel, “Katzenberge,” was published in 2010 and received the Mara-Cassens Prize for best debut, the Nicolas Born Promotion Prize, and the Anna Seghers Prize. Her subsequent novels include “Ambra” (2012), “Tango für einen Hund” (2014), and “Die goldene Stadt” (2017), which became a bestseller. Janesch was the first writer-in-residence of Gdańsk and held a 2011 fellowship at Ledig House in New York.
