Michael Brie

Michael Brie is a philosopher and social philosopher. Until 2023, he chaired the Scientific Advisory Board of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and directed its Institute for Social Analysis. His areas of work have included the theory and history of socialism and communism, as well as socialist transformation research. His publications with VSA include POLANYI neu entdecken (2015), LENIN neu entdecken (2017), ROSA LUXEMBURG neu entdecken (2019), SOZIALISMUS neu entdecken (2022), and CHINAS SOZIALISMUS neu entdecken (2023). He co-authored Rosa Luxemburg. Eine revolutionäre Sozialistin an den Grenzen des Marxismus (2021) with Jörn Schütrumpf.
