Marlene Kilga was born in Feldkirch in 1973 and grew up there. She studied English and German at the University of Ghent in Belgium. She subsequently worked as a language teacher in Canada, England, Belgium, and Austria. She wrote five crime novels set in Vorarlberg; “Der Tod kommt nach Vorarlberg” was published as her debut with Gmeiner Verlag. “Die Chimäre der Schattenburg” is the third crime novel featuring Inspector Finster.
