Eva Reichl was born in Kirchdorf an der Krems in Upper Austria and moved to the Mühlviertel with her family as a young child. After completing commercial training, she worked as a controller before turning to writing in 2007. Her work primarily comprises crime novels and thrillers, as well as stories for children. She is known for her Mühlviertel crime series featuring Chief Inspector Oskar Stern and for thrillers centered on the character Diana Heller. Todesdorf was her first thriller.
