Maiken Brathe

Maiken Brathe (born 1970 in Hamburg) studied German literature, journalism and political science at the University of Hamburg. She has published essays and columns in the German Rheumatism League’s magazine »mobil«, as well as short stories in literary magazines and anthologies. Her debut novel, »Tilda«, was published by Ulrike Helmer Verlag in 2021, followed that year by the nonfiction book »Leg schon mal die Handtücher auf die schönsten Wolken«, about accompanying her mother through the final stage of her life, published by adakia. Brathe received, among other honors, the Uli-Horn Prize in 2008 and the Edgar Stene Prize in 2018.
