Knut Backhaus

Born in 1960, Knut Backhaus is a German theologian and New Testament scholar. He received his doctorate in 1989 and completed his habilitation in 1994. From 1994 to 2003, he was professor of New Testament at the Faculty of Theology in Paderborn. From 2003 onward, he held the chair of New Testament exegesis and biblical hermeneutics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
