Heinrich bedford-Strohm

Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, born in 1960, is a German Protestant theologian and author. He was Professor of Systematic Theology and Contemporary Theological Issues at the University of Bamberg, where he also headed the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Research Centre for Public Theology. From 2011 to 2023, he served as bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. From 2014 to 2021, he chaired the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD). Bedford-Strohm has written and edited numerous publications, particularly on public theology and social ethics.
