Klaus Ensikat

Klaus Ensikat was born in Berlin in 1937. He is a German book artist and illustrator who worked as a freelance illustrator for various publishers from 1965 onward. His detailed graphic work gained international recognition. In 1996, he received the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for his complete oeuvre, a major international distinction for illustration in children’s and young adult literature.
