Jo Reichertz (born 1949) is a sociologist and communication scholar. From 1993 to early 2015, he was Professor of Communication Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He also held regular visiting professorships at the universities of Vienna and St. Gallen. His areas of research include the power of communication, the sociology of culture and religion, media analysis and use, the study of emotions, and communication and dementia.
