Helmut Heid (born 1934) is an educational scientist who was a professor at the Institute of Educational Science at the University of Regensburg. From 1982 to 1986, he chaired the German Educational Research Association; from 1992 to 2000, he chaired the German Research Foundation’s committee for educational science. He also held visiting professorships at several universities, including those in Fribourg, Basel, Rostock, and Lucerne. His research focused on the philosophy of science in education, normative issues in educational research and practice, ideology critique, and the relationship between education and employment systems.
