Birgit Weyel

Birgit Weyel, born in Siegen, Westphalia, in 1964, studied Protestant theology in Bonn and Berlin. After serving her vicariate in Berlin-Mitte and at the Wittenberg seminary, she was ordained in 1992. She received her doctorate in theology in 1997 and completed her habilitation in 2004. In 2007, she was appointed professor of practical theology at the University of Tübingen. She was a member of the academic advisory board for the Protestant Church in Germany’s fifth survey on church membership.
