Margherita Bettoni, born in Italy in 1987, worked as an investigative journalist focusing on organized crime and sexualized violence. She co-authored the books *The Mafia in Germany: Crown Witness Maria G. Speaks Out* (2017) and *Coronavirus: The Story of an Announced Death* (2020). Her investigative work earned her the Marlies Hesse Nachwuchspreis, the Migration Media Award, and the Grimme Online Award.
