Anne Schieckel

Anne Schieckel studied German language and literature as well as history, then trained as a bookseller for publishing. She subsequently worked for many years as a publishing editor and head editor in children’s and young adult publishing. She also worked as a lecturer in German as a second language and led writing workshops, readings, lectures, and seminars on writing. As an author, she spent some time living and working in New York City. She was born in Lübeck and attended school in Heidelberg and Austria, among other places.
