Walter Obwexer

Walter Obwexer is a legal scholar who was appointed professor of European and international law at the University of Innsbruck in 2012. In March 2015, he became dean of studies at the university’s Faculty of Law, and in March 2021 he took over as its dean. From October 2019, he also chaired the Senate of the University of Innsbruck. Obwexer advised several Austrian federal ministries and the governments of Tyrol and South Tyrol on matters of European Union law. He also served on the board of ECSA Austria and as a member of the Austrian federal government’s EU Advisory Council.
