Tim Becker

Tim Becker, Dr. phil., was born in 1973 in Daun in the Vulkaneifel region of Germany. He studied historical musicology, sociology and ethnomusicology at the universities of Bayreuth and Bamberg. Supported by a doctoral scholarship from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, he earned his doctorate on embodiment in music and in early twentieth-century thinking about music. Becker has published research and writings on music and philosophy. He was among the co-founders and members of the leadership of Institut Denkunternehmung, a research initiative for music and cultural studies. His other activities included chairing the Musikschule Landkreis Vulkaneifel and managing the 2017 Eifel Rallye Festival.
