Thomas Seibert (born 1963) studied political science in Bonn and trained as a journalist, working as an editorial assistant at The New York Times. He subsequently worked in the German capital for the news agencies Reuters and AFP. From 1997, he worked as a freelance correspondent in Istanbul and served as a U.S. correspondent in Washington from 2016 to 2018. His journalistic focus is Turkey and the Middle East.
