Andrea Ypsilanti

Andrea Ypsilanti studied sociology and worked from 1994 to 1999 as a department head in the Hessian State Chancellery. In 2003, she became chair of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in Hesse. In December 2006, she was selected as her party’s lead candidate for the Hessian state election held on January 27, 2008. In 2010, she was one of the co-founders of the Institute for Solidary Modernity.
