Teresa Hiergeist

Teresa Hiergeist (Prof. Dr. phil., born 1984) is a scholar of literature and cultural studies and a professor of French and Spanish literature and cultural studies at the University of Vienna’s Department of Romance Studies. Her research areas include cognitive narratology, alternative concepts of society and education, ideas of social and communal cohesion, the sacred and spiritual, human–animal relations—particularly in the early modern period—and para-societies since the late nineteenth century.
