Lisanne Wepler

Lisanne Wepler (born 1980) is a German art historian. Her dissertation, “Bilderzählungen in der Vogelmalerei des niederländischen Barocks,” was published in 2014. From 2016 to 2020, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Leiden University. This research led to her 2021 book “Tierfabeln in Gemäldeserien seit 1600.” Together with Gregor J. M. Weber, Burkhardt Söll and Manuela du Bois-Reymond, she co-founded the artists’ collective drukdrukpaint. From April 2021, Wepler worked as a research associate at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
