Colin Goldner

Colin Goldner studied social work as well as psychology and cultural anthropology in Munich and Los Angeles. He has published extensively on animal-rights issues and took over coordination of the Great Ape Project in 2011, an initiative advocating fundamental rights for great apes. His 2014 study, *Lebenslänglich hinter Gittern: Die Wahrheit über Gorilla, Orang-Utan & Co. in deutschen Zoos* (*Behind Bars for Life: The Truth About Gorillas, Orangutans and Co. in German Zoos*), was nominated for the Wissensbuch des Jahres award and placed second in the final round in the “Zündstoff” category.
