Michael Pfitzner

Michael Pfitzner is a professor and scholar of physical education. He earned his doctorate at the University of Wuppertal with a study on safety and health promotion in school sports and taught physical education and social sciences for five years at Arnoldinum Gymnasium in Steinfurt. He later completed his habilitation at the University of Münster, researching learning tasks in competence-oriented physical education. His professional positions included serving as a sports education adviser at the North Rhine-Westphalia State Institute for Schools and holding acting professorships in physical education and sports pedagogy at the universities of Kiel and Duisburg-Essen. His main areas of work include individualized support and safety and health promotion in school sports.
