Michael Becker-Mrotzek (born 1957) is a language education scholar and university professor. He served as Professor of German Language and its Teaching at the University of Cologne and as director of the Mercator Institute for Language Support and German as a Second Language. His research interests include applied linguistics, language support, writing education, and the use of digital media in language learning. From 2013 onward, he was spokesperson for the consortium responsible for the federal-state initiative “Education through Language and Literacy” (BiSS).
