Kerstin Ziemen is an educational scientist and professor of education and didactics for people with intellectual disabilities at the University of Cologne. Her research focuses on inclusion and inclusive didactics, school development, the situation of children, adolescents and families with experiences of disability, and communication under challenging conditions. Further areas of work include cultural-historical theory and activity theory, the sociology of Pierre Bourdieu, and the construction and deconstruction of disability.
