Michael Buselmeier was born in Berlin in 1938 and grew up in Heidelberg. He worked as a writer, publicist, editor and literary city guide. His publications include „Dante deutsch. Gedichte“ (2012), „Ende des Vogelgesangs – Eine Kindheit“ (2015), „Mein Bruder mein Tier“ (2018) and the novel „Elisabeth. Ein Abschied“ (2021). In 2011, „Wunsiedel“ was shortlisted for the German Book Prize. He received the Ben-Witter Prize from the ZEIT Foundation in 2010 and the Gustav Regler Prize from the city of Merzig and Saarländischer Rundfunk in 2014.
