Marion Kobelt-Groch (1955–2018) was a German historian. From 1976 to 1990, she studied prehistory and early history, educational science, German studies, and history for teaching at the University of Hamburg. In 1990, she received her doctorate under Hans-Jürgen Goertz with a dissertation on women in the German Peasants’ War and the Anabaptist movements; she completed her habilitation in 2002. She subsequently taught as a Privatdozentin at the University of Hamburg. Her research focused on the Radical Reformation, women’s and gender history, printed Lutheran funeral sermons from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries, and Leopold von Sacher-Masoch.
