Luca Kieser was born in Tübingen in 1992. He studied philosophy in Heidelberg and Leipzig and language art in Vienna. His literary work has received, among other distinctions, the Wortmeldungen Förderpreis, the Lichtungen poetry fellowship, the FM4 Wortlaut prize, a year-long scholarship from the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg, and a literary fellowship from Künstlerdorf Schöppingen. His debut novel, “Weil da war etwas im Wasser,” was published in 2023 and nominated for the German Book Prize. It was followed by the novels “Pink Elephant” and “Simsalabim, Simon Brenner,” as well as the poetry collection “manchmal ist eine tragische Liebe.”
