Andrea Stift-Laube was born in 1976 in Styria, Austria. She studied linguistics and German studies, as well as cultural studies. As a writer and publicist, she published several novels along with prose, poetry, and essays. She also worked as an editor of the literary journal Lichtungen, a journalist, and a district politician. Her contributions appeared in publications including Der Standard, Wiener Zeitung, Die Presse, and Kleine Zeitung. Her honors and grants include the manuskripte Förderpreis, the Theodor Körner Prize, a project grant from the Austrian Federal Chancellery, the Rotahorn Literature Prize, and a jubilee grant from Literar Mechana.
