Clemens J. Setz, born in Graz in 1982, studied mathematics and German literature. He has worked as a translator and freelance writer, publishing, among other works, the story collection The Love in the Time of Mahlstadt’s Child, the novel Indigo, the poetry collection Die Vogelstraußtrompete, and the novel The Hour Between Woman and Guitar. His work has received numerous awards, including the Leipzig Book Fair Prize (2011), the Wilhelm Raabe Literature Prize (2015), the Georg Büchner Prize (2021), and the Austrian Book Prize (2023).
