Layla Zami

Layla Zami (Dr. phil., Dipl.-Pol.) is a scholar and interdisciplinary artist. She earned a PhD at the Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin, where she received a Teaching Quality Prize for her seminar “Performing Memory.” Zami worked for several years as a Visiting Assistant and later as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Humanities and Media Studies at Pratt Institute in New York. As an artist-in-residence with Oxana Chi Dance & Art, she combined music and sound, spoken word, and physical theatre with choreography. She also worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Performance Studies at Freie Universität Berlin.
