Katharina Bendixen

Katharina Bendixen, born in Leipzig in 1981, is an author of books for children, young adults and adults. She studied book studies and Hispanic studies in Leipzig and Alicante. Her literary work has received, among other distinctions, the Kranichstein Literature Advancement Award (2014), a Heinrich Heine fellowship (2017) and a working grant from the German Literature Fund (2020/21). Taras Augen was her first young-adult novel and received the Leipziger Lesekompass in 2022; Zorro, der Mops was her first children’s book. In 2020, she co-founded the initiative “other writers need to concentrate,” which examines the relationship between authorship and parenthood.
