Ju Honisch studied English and history in Munich and earned a master’s degree. After working in publishing, she turned to professional writing. She wrote short stories and novels in German and English, as well as poetry and songs. Her debut novel, Das Obsidianherz, received the German Phantastik Prize for best debut novel in 2009. In 2014, Schwingen aus Stein won the SERAPH award for the best work of fantastic literature. Alongside writing, she also pursued music and songwriting.
