Gesa Schwartz

Gesa Schwartz, born in Stade in 1980, studied German philology, philosophy and German as a foreign language. After completing her studies, she spent a year travelling through Europe in the footsteps of traditional storytellers. In 2011, she received the German Phantastik Prize for Best German-Language Debut Novel for her debut, “Grim. Das Siegel des Feuers”. Schwartz published children’s and young adult books as well as fantasy novels; her works received several awards and were translated into several languages. “Ella Löwenstein” was her first children’s book series.
