Markus Heitz (born 1971) is a German author. He studied German and history and worked as a freelance journalist before turning to writing. His literary career began with the »Ulldart« series. He is best known for the fantasy series »The Dwarves«, whose novels have been translated into numerous languages, and for »The Legends of the Albae«. Heitz has published more than 50 novels spanning fantasy, science fiction, horror, urban fantasy, and thrillers. His work has received numerous awards, including multiple German Phantastik Prizes.
