Jens Wonneberger

Jens Wonneberger (born 1960) initially studied civil engineering and subsequently worked in various jobs, including as a cleaner and a salesperson. From 1992 onward, he worked as a freelance author and editor; he also worked as a journalist and critic. He received the Saxon Literature Prize in 2010 and a work grant from the German Literature Fund in 2017. Wonneberger has published numerous novels, short stories and nonfiction books. His novels include Goetheallee (2014), Himmelreich (2015), Sprich oder stirb (2017), Mission Pflaumenbaum (2019) and Flug der Flamingos (2021). Mission Pflaumenbaum was nominated for the German Book Prize in 2020.
