Franzobel

Franzobel, born in 1967 in Vöcklabruck, is an Austrian writer. He writes novels, plays, and other literary works. His notable historical novels include *Das Floß der Medusa*, *Die Eroberung Amerikas*, and *Einsteins Hirn*. His work has been translated into numerous languages. Franzobel has received, among other honors, the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize (1995), the Arthur Schnitzler Prize (2002), the Nicolas Born Prize, and the Bavarian Book Prize (both 2017).
