Horst Pukallus

Horst Pukallus (born 1949 in Düsseldorf) is a writer, editor, and translator. Originally trained as an insurance clerk, he moved into freelance translation and writing in 1975. From the late 1960s onward, he published criticism on science fiction; his first short story, “Interludium,” appeared in 1974. His works include the story collections “Die Wellenlänge der Wirklichkeit” (1983) and “Songs aus der Konverter-Kammer” (1985). He received the Kurd Laßwitz Award for best science-fiction translation in 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985, and 2001, and for best science-fiction short story in 1991. He also edited several anthologies and published collaborative works with Andreas Brandhorst, Ronald Hahn, and Michael Iwoleit.
