Andreas Brandhorst, born in 1956 in Sielhorst in northern Germany, is a German author. He became known chiefly for science-fiction and thriller novels, including the Kantaki cycle and works such as Aeon, The Awakening, The Ship, Omni and The Rift. His awards include the Kurd Laßwitz Award in 2016 and 2017 and the German Science Fiction Award in 2016. Brandhorst lived in Italy for many years before returning to Germany.
