Heinz-Elmar Tenorth (born 1944) is a German educational scholar and historian of education. From 1979 to 1991, he was a professor at Goethe University Frankfurt. He subsequently taught the history of education at Humboldt University of Berlin until 2011. His research focuses included the history and theory of educational knowledge.
