Harald Bongart (born 1964) studied history. He headed the city archive of Bad Münstereifel and established a pharmacy museum there. Bongart published illustrated books, local-history texts, and short crime stories. His particular interests include the history of everyday life and of outsiders in the late Middle Ages and the early modern period, as well as Jewish history. “PEREGRINUS – Der schwarze Pilger” was his first crime novel.
