Gisela Holfter

Gisela Holfter (born 1967) is a German scholar. She studied in Cologne, Cambridge and St Louis, Missouri, and earned her doctorate in Cologne. After teaching in Dunedin, New Zealand, she worked at the University of Limerick in Ireland from 1996, becoming a Senior Lecturer in 2003. She helped establish the university’s Centre for German-Irish Studies and served as its head. Her research focused on German-Irish relations, German-language literature of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and exile in Ireland.
