Dorothea Ackroyd

Dorothea Ackroyd was born in Herford in 1960 and studied communication design, visual communication and graphic design at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. She began working as a freelance illustrator in 1990, and her first work in children’s publishing appeared in 1993. Her first picture book was published in 1999. Following the birth of her daughter, she focused mainly on illustrating books for children and young adults. She published more than 120 books, some of which were translated into eleven languages.
