Henrike Wilson (born 1961 in Cologne) studied graphic design and painting in Cologne and Washington, D.C. After graduating, she worked for the FAZ-Magazin and became known as a children’s book illustrator and author. Her widely translated work includes the picture books The Little Father Christmas, The Little Scatterbrained Witch and Charlotte the Sheep, written by Anu Stohner. She has also illustrated books by Rafik Schami, Jostein Gaarder and David Grossman. In 2007, she received a New York Times award for her illustration work; Charlotte the Sheep was also recognized by The New York Times as one of the best-illustrated books.
