Hartmut Bieber, born in Westphalia in 1964, studied graphic design in Münster, focusing on typography and illustration. After working for various advertising agencies, he became a freelance illustrator in 2000. His best-known picture-book characters and titles include the Little King of the Colorful Castle, the Little Star Fairy, Little Valentin, the dream messenger from “Do You Know Who Brings the Dreams?” and the young adventurer Bodo Bear.
