Until 2018, Christine Garbe held the chair in the reading and media socialization of children and adolescents at the University of Cologne. She led international projects on reading competence, reading promotion, and teacher education and published numerous research contributions. She also contributed to the development of the online platform “Boys and Books,” which promotes reading among boys, and conducted training courses, workshops, school consultations, and evaluation projects.
