Christian Dawidowski

Christian Dawidowski was born in 1971 in the Ruhr region of Germany. He studied German and philosophy at Ruhr University Bochum, where he received his doctorate in literary studies in 1999 with a dissertation on Robert Musil’s early work. After completing his teacher training and working as a secondary-school teacher in Iserlohn, he was assigned to the University of Siegen in 2004 to pursue his habilitation, which he completed in 2008. He subsequently worked as a senior secondary-school teacher for the Arnsberg district government and the Ministry of Schools of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2010, he was appointed professor of literary education at the University of Osnabrück. His research has included empirical and intercultural literary education, media education, and literature of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
