Walter Kreye

Walter Kreye (born in 1942 in Oldenburg) is a German actor and audiobook narrator. He performed at venues including Hamburg’s Thalia Theater and Schauspielhaus, Berlin’s Schaubühne, and the Staatstheater Stuttgart. From the late 1980s onward, he became particularly known for roles in German television crime dramas, including »Tatort« and the ZDF series »Der Alte«, in which he played the title character and Chief Inspector Kress. His film credits include »Solo für Klarinette«, »Katze im Sack«, »Mondscheinkinder«, and »Nichts als Gespenster«. He also narrated audiobooks, including the Maigret novels by Georges Simenon. Kreye is the son of writer and radio editor Walter Arthur Kreye.
